About Us
AAI Russian office was initially opened in Moscow in February
2001 after the agency had been accredited to do adoption work in Russia.
In November 2001 a decision was made to move the office from Moscow to
St.Petersburg. The new office was headed by Kirill Yarusov who by that time
had a 10-year experience in international adoption,
and who has been holding
this position ever since.
At first it was just a room housing three staff persons. By now it has
grown to a three-room office with six full-time employees working in it.
Our office coordinates AAI operations in over 10 regions of Russia. All our
regional representatives are also officially employed by AAI.
We find it very important that all our employees are highly professional
and share AAI philosophy towards adoption. We want people working for AAI in
different regions of Russia,
including the most distant ones, to feel being a
part of a big team doing a very important job of helping people find their
children.
